Give Eggs 90 Days

We often get asked “how long before acupuncture works,” from our new fertility patients.

We know that once you’ve stepped into Cultivate it probably isn’t your first day of trying to conceive, and it’s rare that you’re coming in without trying a gazillion remedies prior to that first appointment.

This answer isn’t the same for everyone, but the most important thing to remember is that a healthy body is a fertile body, and imbalance didn’t start overnight.

We know it is hard to wait when you’re desiring to carry a baby, but we don’t just want you to get pregnant-we want you to have a safe and comfortable pregnancy with a healthy, full-term baby.

This is why we suggest giving it at least ninety days before conceiving (or expecting significant changes) after starting your treatment plan. Here’s why:

It takes at least 90 days for a follicle to mature. During this 90 day period we give space to assist your egg quality with nutrition, supplementation, and stress reduction so that when we resume trying you’ve got your best quality eggs ready for the call. During those 90 days, we work to improve stress, sleep, digestion, hormone health, balance blood sugar, and correct any imbalances in your follicular or luteal phase. What can we do within 90 days?

1: Improve Your Diet

The first step to improving egg quality is to evaluate your diet. There are many conceptions about what makes a healthy, or a fertile diet. The best answer to this is that there isn’t a one size fits all approach to nutrition, and we can help you assess what your body is lacking nutritionally and provide solutions based on your constitution and situation. Generally, a colorful diet rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals can improve your egg quality. Antioxidants help to protect your eggs from damage caused by free radicals, which can lead to genetic mutations. In addition to antioxidants, make sure you're getting enough folate, iron, and vitamin D. Folic acid/folate is essential for the development of a healthy fetus, while iron supports healthy blood flow to the uterus and vitamin D helps your body absorb calcium, which is necessary for healthy bones.

2: Reduce Stress

Stress can have a negative impact on your fertility by disrupting your hormonal balance. Stress can cause your body to release cortisol, which can interfere with your menstrual cycle and decrease your chances of ovulating. Oxidative stress doesn’t just come from environmental factors, it can also come from mental stress, worry, and overload. To reduce stress, try practicing yoga, meditation, or deep breathing exercises. You can also take up a relaxing hobby like reading or painting.

3: Consider Supplements

Supplements can also help to improve your egg quality. Two main supplements toted for their fertility benefits include CoQ10 and omega-3 fatty acids. Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is an antioxidant that helps to protect your eggs from damage and increase their energy production. Another supplement that can improve egg quality is omega-3 fatty acids, which can help to reduce inflammation and promote healthy blood flow to the reproductive organs. When you work with Cultivate, we will also give you supplementation based on your unique case and whether you need additional supplementation due to lesions, fibroids, scar tissue, anovulation, infection, and/or inflammation.

Improving your egg quality takes time and effort, but it is worth it in the end. By improving your diet, reducing stress, and considering supplements, you can increase your chances of conceiving a healthy baby. Remember to be patient and consistent in your efforts, and get a good team on your side.

Your overall health=reproductive health, they can’t be separated. We’ve got your  back, and your eggs 🪺
