Stagnation symptoms are usually manifested by an increase in Emotional disharmony, especially feelings of repressed anger, resentment, and frustration. Over time, these unexpressed emotions impair the circulation of fluids and blood, creating disharmony within the body.

According to Chinese Medicine, anger and other related emotions such as resentment, unfulfilled desires, and frustrations are attributed to the Liver. The Liver is responsible for the free and smooth flow of blood and energy, and when the liver flow is injured it also disrupts a person's emotional state.
